June 9 proclaimed a special non-working holiday in Rosario Batangas

Rosario, Batangas –In time for this town’s 120th foundation celebration starting June 6, President Benigno Simeon Aquino III declared June 9, Thursday, a special nonworking holiday in a newly signed Presidential Proclamation No. 161.
"It is but fitting and proper that the people of the Municipality of Rosario, Batangas be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies," said Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr., who signed the proclamation on Aquino's behalf.
The proclamation was signed May 5 but was posted on the government portal on Monday.
Elizabeth Morfe, the town’s administrative officer said this is a very welcome change for the people of Rosario who will start the week-long foundation celebration starting June 6.
"We have a lot of activities for the week-long celebration of our foundation day. Declaring June 9 as a special non-working holiday is a big help for us," Morfe said. (SLI)
